Volleyball Nova Scotia Announces New Board Members

2015-12-07

Volleyball Nova Scotia is pleased to announce the election of new President, Paul Worden and five new Board Members.

Paul has extensive experience in the sport. He is a National Referee who served from 2005 to 2008 as the Regional Officials Chair. Paul has also coached in both the club and school system and is one of the founding members of the Gales Volleyball Club. He also has two children who are active in the sport.

Paul is replacing David Swetnam who has served as President for the past six years. “Over the last few years the leadership of Dave Swetnam has tremendously blessed our community. Among other accomplishments, we owe him our thanks for being an instrumental voice in the development of our Beach Volleyball Park in Burnside. Surely this facility will stand as merely one part of Dave’s legacy. Sadly (for us), Dave has decided to pursue other passions, leaving behind him “a tough act to follow,” said Worden.

“Volleyball Nova Scotia has made great strides in the past number of years and I expect they will continue to move forward” said outgoing President David Swetnam.

The following individuals have also been elected to Volleyball Nova Scotia’s Board of Directors:
  • Jennifer Campbell – Secretary
  • Jolayne MacKenzie - Marketing Lead
  • Ryan Harris – Membership Development Chair
  • Ashley Smith – South Shore Representative
  • Carrie Peck – Fundy Representative
Volleyball Nova Scotia would also like to thank the following outgoing Board Members for their hard work, dedication and invaluable contributions.
  • Karen Moore – Secretary
  • Jennifer Weatherhead - Marketing Lead
  • Derek Lesser – South Shore Representative
  • Richard Doane – Fundy Representative
The elections were held at the Annual General Meeting hosted at the Canada Games Centre on December 6. For more information about the AGM Click Here
